Dr. Michael Gurucharri

Dr. Gurucharri — Bradenton, FL — ENT Associates of Manatee

Dr. Gurucharri was born in Sanford, Florida, and then raised in Madrid Spain where his family worked for the US Air Force. His family then moved to Miami, Florida where he graduated from Ransom High School in Coconut Grove. He earned his undergraduate degree in Professional Science from the University of Notre Dame where he received the Holy Cross and Arthur J Decio Scholarships for academic excellence. In 1982 he earned his Medical Degree from the University of South Florida where he received the Brown Farrior award for excellence in Otolaryngology.


His internship and second year of general surgery training took place in Baltimore, Maryland and included rotations through Shock Trauma and the Baltimore City Burn Unit - an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University. He completed his surgical residency as chief resident at the University of South Florida in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck surgery.


Pursuing his goal of providing exceptional care to the pediatric population, Dr. Gurucharri completed his Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship in 1988 at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. During this fellowship, he performed over one thousand pediatric ENT cases. Dr. Gurucharri was instrumental in writing numerous medical publications in the national literature. At this time he was also an instructor at the American Academy of Otolaryngology teaching a pediatric sinus surgery course.


In 1989 he joined ENT Associates of Manatee as a board certified Otolaryngologist. He was chief of surgery, and Board member at Manatee Memorial Hospital, and currently is President of the Board of Manatee Surgical Center.


He is a member of the American Board of Otolaryngology, the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the Southeastern Pediatric Otolaryngology Study Group. He has been recognized as a “Best Doctor” by his colleagues for over twenty years.


Dr. Gurucharri’s areas of expertise include Diseases of the Ear, Pediatric ENT and Treatment of Sinus Disorders. He is affiliated with Manatee Memorial Hospital and the Manatee Surgical Center.


He enjoys spending time with family, boating, fishing, cycling, swimming, cattle ranching and traveling.
